Peer Review Articles accepted for publication in Affect will be assessed by scholarly peer review. All manuscripts are reviewed by at least one of the editors and an additional peer in a similar field. Our editors aim to work together with authors, offering constructive criticism and advice on articles. We also encourage authors to approach the editors with ideas for articles written specifically for one of Affect's theme issues, and we will endeavour to offer support throughout the research and writing process.
Commission Affect is an online, non-profit journal that seeks to be accessible by all and is run by committed volunteers. As such, we are unable to offer monetary payment for contributing authors at this time.
Copyright Authors will assign limited copyright of their manuscripts to Affect for publication of their work in the journal in perpetuity. Authors will retain copyright of their manuscripts for all other forms of publication but must give due acknowledgement of original publication in Affect if their work is published elsewhere.

Obtaining copyright permission for reproductions is the responsibility of the author(s). Due acknowledgement is expected.

Plagiarism
In consideration of the publication of an article in Affect, authors warrant and undertake:

b. that they have obtained permission from the copyright holder to reproduce in their article (in all media including print and electronic form) material not owned by them, and that they have acknowledged the source;
c. that their article contains no violation of any existing copyright or other third party right or any material of an obscene, indecent, libelous, or otherwise unlawful nature, and that to the best of their knowledge their article does not infringe the rights of others;
d. that they will indemnify and keep indemnified the Editors and Publishers of Affect against all claims and expenses (including legal costs and expenses) arising from any breach of this warranty and the other warranties on their behalf; and,
e. that in the case of a multi-authored article they have obtained copyright assignment from all co-authors to enter into this publishing agreement on their behalf and to bind them to it, and that all co-authors have read and agreed the above warranties.

Style
The editors of Affect acknowledge the importance of writing, representation and visuality in the production of text; beyond the idea that style is a mere conduit for meaning. As such, we do not wish to specify rigid instructions for style. However, in the interests of consistency, during the review process editors may want to discuss layout and style, but do not wish to impede on textual creativity.

If sending an 'rtf' or 'doc' file, please use a standard font. 'Pdf's can be in any font.
Images, diagrams or videos can be submitted separately by email or embedded in the text. In some circumstances, videos can be uploaded directly to the site via ftp. Please discuss this option with our editors.

If you have any questions regarding the submission of articles or the peer review process, please email editors@affectjournal.co.uk
