W h a t   i s   A f f e c t ?

 

Affect seeks to address the current inaccessibility and inscrutability of the vast majority of social scientific output.  

 

We are looking to provide an accessible and inclusive platform for articles and blog entries that relate to the social sciences. These contributions can be as traditional or radical as participants like; can seek to provide a fresh perspective or informative insight; and can be extremely rigorous and well-researched, or more immediate and personal. 

 

 We believe that social scientific output should not be available to the limited few, but to the many; and that what is available to the many should be both accessible and of the highest standard.  

 

Affect is a chance to make the social sciences truly social, to spread our knowledge, and to ensure that our insights are not banished to the forgotten corners of academia or made toothless by oversimplification.
